a) The Championship shall be played by scratch stroke play over 36 holes.
b) The winner shall be the player who returns the lowest score over 36 holes and shall be the Boys’ Champion of the South Western Counties Golf Association for the year and shall hold the Championship Cup for that time.
c) In the event of a tie for the Championship the winner shall be decided on the lowest score for the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes.
d) PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED CADDIES
e) Players are not allowed to wear shorts
To be eligible to enter:
a) Each player must:-
i. be under the age of 18 at 00.00 hours on 1st January in the year in which the Championship is to be played.
ii. be eligible to play in the current year’s Boys’ Championship of the County for which he is selected for this Championship.
iii. be a member of an affiliated Club in his County or must have been born in the County and is a member of an affiliated Club in another English County.
iv. not have played for another County in representative matches, including friendly matches during the same calendar year as this Championship.
v. be in possession of an “active” CONGU handicap not exceeding 6 at the date of entry.
b) Players moving from one County to another
i. Subject to the above Conditions for this Championship and, therefore, with the exception of this Championship, if there is agreement between the County from which the player is moving and the County to which the player is moving, the player may play for his “new” County with immediate effect.
ii. Disagreements/disputes. In case of doubt or in the absence of agreement over eligibility to play for a County in this Championship or in any other County representative match, a County, Counties or Group may seek a decision from the England Golf’s Championship Committee, whose decision shall be final. In regard to this Championship, the Championship Committee may, of its own volition, make a final decision on eligibility.
a) The entry is limited to a maximum of 60 players
b) Each County may enter up to 8 players.
c) Individual entries from players who have a playing handicap of 6 or less can be accepted to bring the total up to 60
d) In the event of the number of entries being in excess of 60, the excess shall be reduced to 60 by eliminating the higher handicaps by ballot except those players nominated by Counties.
e) Unsuccessful entrants will be placed on a reserve list and will be notified if a place becomes available.
f) In the event of an emergency, a County may, at the discretion of the Championship Committee, substitute a player.
g) The Entry from each County shall be sent to the Secretary by 12.00 hours on the date shown on the prescribed Entry Form providing the name of each Player, his date of birth, CDH number and his exact handicap with such entry being certified as correct at the date of being forwarded together with confirmation that a current Parental Consent Form is held. Individual entrants shall provide the same information and a telephone number through which he can be contacted at short notice and the address or email address to which he wishes a copy of the Draw to be sent if required. The Secretary shall post the Draw to www.swcga.co.uk with a copy to all Junior Delegates/Team Managers at least eight clear days prior to the date of play. The Championship Committee of the Association may accept late individual entries but is not compelled to do so.
h) Each Entry by an individual shall be accompanied by a copy of the entrant's current Parental Consent Form. Failure to comply with this Condition prior to the closing date for entries shall result in the intended entrant's name being omitted from the Draw in addition to which he shall be ineligible to play in the South Western Counties Boys' Championship, the English Boys' County Championship Qualifying Round and the official Practice Day until the default has been remedied to the satisfaction of the Championship Committee.
The Qualifying Round for The English Boys’ County Championship will be played concurrently with the SWCGA Boys’ Championship. The qualifying County shall be adjudged to be the South Western Counties Boys’ Team Champions and will hold the Trophy until the following year’s event.
Each County shall nominate a team of six players from the eight players they have entered. The best five scores will be taken on each round. The County returning the lowest aggregate score from these scores will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be the County returning the lowest aggregate score from its sixth player in each round. If there is still a tie, the winner will be the County returning the lowest aggregate score with all six scores for both rounds to count. Should that fail to produce a result, ties shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the last completed round. If a tie still arises it shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the first nine holes of the last completed round. If a tie still arises the first round should be treated in the same way. All six cards will be used in resolving ties in this way.
Each County must notify the names of the six players in writing to the Honorary Secretary on conclusion of the Team Managers Meeting on the afternoon preceding the Championship and EG Qualifying Round.
