SOUTH WESTERN COUNTIES BOYS’ U16/U14 CHAMPIONSHIP

LAWFORD TROPHY and THE DAVID KING SALVER
Conditions of Play
- The Championship shall be played by scratch stroke play over 18 holes.
- The winner shall be the competitor who returns the lowest score over 18 holes and shall be the Boys’ U16/U14 Champion of the South Western Counties Golf Association for the ensuing year and shall be the holder of the Eric Scott-Cooper Cotswold Ram Trophy for that time.
- The competitor who returns the lowest Under 14 score over 18 holes shall be the holder of the Ray Lawford Trophy for the year.
- In the event of a tie the winners shall be decided on the lowest score for the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes.
- The Inter-Counties Team Trophy will be awarded to the County with the lowest aggregate total of its best four Under 16 scores plus its best Under 14 score and shall be the holder of the David King Salver for the year. In the event of a tie, the winner shall be the County returning the lowest score from its fifth best player in the Under 16 Championship. If a tie still remains, shall be the County returning the lowest score from its sixth best player in the Under 16 Championship. If a tie still remains, the winner shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole of the best score returned for the Counties concerned in the Under 14 Championship.
- COMPETITORS ARE NOT ALLOWED CADDIES.
- Competitors are not allowed to wear shorts.
Qualification
To be eligible to enter a player must be:-
- Under the age of 16 or 14, as the case may be, at 00.00 hours on 1st January in the year in which the Championship is to be played.
- Born in one of the Counties comprising the Association (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire) or have for the previous period of twelve months resided in one of these Counties.
- A member of an affiliated Club in his County Union.
- Not have played for another County during the same calendar year as this Championship.
Entries
- The entry is limited to a maximum of 54 players.
- Each County may nominate up to 9 players, 6 under 16 and 3 under 14. (There is no entry for an individual).
- In the event of an emergency a County may, at the discretion of the Championship Committee, substitute a nominated player.
- The Entry from each County shall be sent to the Secretary by 12.00 hours on the date shown on the prescribed Entry Form providing the name of each Player, his date of birth, his CDH number and his exact handicap with such entry being certified as correct at the date of being forwarded. The Secretary shall post the Draw to www.swcga.co.uk with a copy to all Junior Delegates/Team Managers at least eight clear days prior to the date of play.
- Each Entry Sheet shall certify that a current Parental Consent Form is held for each competitor and that a copy will be available, if required, on the day of the Championship.
