Seniors Championship 2021
The 2021 Seniors Amateur Championships were played on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th July over the superb Ferndown Golf Club at Ferndown, Bournemouth.
The conditions were exceptional, probably the two hottest days of the year so far, temperature in excess of 30 degrees and not a cloud in the sky and no breeze.
This years event entertained a restricted field of sixty competitors because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The South West Group Qualifying Competition for the England Golf Seniors County Finals to be played at Grange Park Golf Club, St. Helens, Merseyside on 5th to 7th October resulted in the host County Dorset qualifying to represent the South West for the third consecutive season.
The Dorset team(Captained by Phil Addis) of:- Dave Barton, Ashley Beckett, Philip Bill, Tony Coles, Mark Davies and Gary Earl recorded a score of 743 to win the event by 16 shots from Runners-Up Wiltshire, captained by Nigel Phillips and comprising:- Paul Bloomfield, Simon Dymoke, Colin Edwards, Alan Paterson, Mark Snape and Mike White with a score of 759.

The Age Group prizes for those 65 and over went to Richard Wood (Long Ashton Golf Club) 74+76 = 150
for the best gross score on count-back from Dave Barton (Dorset).
The best Nett score went to Nick Draper (Teignmouth Golf Club) 73+75=148
The winner of the Leonard Lake Trophy and SWCGA Seniors Amateur Championship was home club player Gary Earl 70+74 = 144
Runner-Up was Mark Snape (Tidworth Garrison Golf Club) 71+75 = 146 on count-back from
