The South West Boys Championship was hosted by Devon's East Devon Golf Club, as a result of the recent exceptional heatwave the course was presented in true links condition and proved to be a good test for the field.
The stroke play was well contested and the players fought hard to keep the scoring down with no players actually making par or better during the two rounds. The winner was Joshua Millington with rounds of 74 & 71 a 145 total, 2 shots better than his County Team mate Louis Ross. Two Devon players in Ollie Amos 147 and Stanley White 149 took the next two slots.
Congratulations to Joshua on a great win.
Gloucestershire proved to be the County to beat once more as they took the lead in the race to win the team event and maintained this throughout the day running out comfortable winners from Wiltshire by 12 shots. Dorset were back in third some 37 shots behind Wiltshire.
Congratulations to the Gloucestershire team on qualifying for the finals this year to be held at Furness Golf Club we wish them every success.
