The South West Boys Championship was hosted by Gloucester's Players Club, the course was presented in tremendous condition and was a great test for the field.
The stroke play was well contested and the players fought hard to keep the scoring down Toby Clark shot the best round in the morning with a superb 67. Our current U14 & U16 Champion Jaxson Perry was close on his heels with a fine 69. Somerset's Theo Anderson-Gannon was one under with Wiltshires Oli Webb and Ayden Knight on 73 so it was going to be a great afternoons golf to get our Champion. Toby had a 3 over 75 but the young man from Gloucestershire was making SW history as he came home with another sub par round of 70 two under for a final total of 139 -5 for the 36 holes to become the youngest SW Boys Champion and now holding all three trophies what a fantastic performance.
Congratulations to Jaxson on a great win.
This years team event was a close fought battle between Wiltshire, Somerset and our hosts Gloucestershire. Wiltshire hung on in and finally took a 6 shot lead to win the team event by 6 from Somerset who pipped hosts Gloucetershire by one for second spot.
Congratulations to the Wiltshire team on qualifying for the finals this year to be held at John O'Gaunt Golf Club. We wish them every success.
