SW BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP

BROADSTONE GOLF CLUB

The South West Boys Championship was hosted by Broadstone Golf Club, the course was presented in tremendous condition and was a great test for the field along with the wet weather. 

SOUTH WEST BOYS AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

The stroke play was well contested and the players fought hard to keep the scoring down Brendon skidmore shot the best round in the morning with a superb 69.  His team mate Ash Millington along with Wiltshires Lewy Hayward & Harry Dickens were 3 behind on 72.  The afternoon round whilst starting in the wet did see some dry spells as the players battled on to complete the 36 hole event.  Brandon completed his second round with another fine 69 giving him a 2 under 138 total. Team mate Leo Powell also shot 69 to put him in second place on 142.  Best round of the afternoon belonged to Dorsets Dominic Harrington with a fine 68 some twelve shots better than his morning round.  The day belonged to Gloucestershires Brandon Skidmore as he became the 2024 Boys Champion with those two fine round the only play to finish under par.

QUALIFYING COMPETITION - ENGLISH BOYS COUNTY FINALS

This years team event was a close fought battle between last years winners Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.  In the end the Gloucester boys took the title by 5 shots from Wiltshire with the host County back in third place some 21 shots behind.

Congratulations to the Gloucestershire team on qualifying for the finals this year to be held at Teignmouth.  We wish them every success.
