South West Week 2025

After last year's Centenary we were hosted for our 93rd SW Championship Week by Wiltshire at Cumberwell Park.  The course was in tremendous condition and provided all with a great venue for the weeks golf.  We thank the management and Members for allowing us to use their course for this year's Championship.

South West Amateur Champion

Milan Reed Gloucestershire

President presenting Milan with the Trophy

The weather was warm with sunny intervals with a little wind to add to the challange  for this year's Amateur Championship.  The players seemed up  for the challenge as the scoring showed with some really fine golf being played.

last years Boys Champions Brendon Skidmore led the field after the first round with a fine 65 some two shots clear of team mate Milan Reed, Wiltshires Lewy Hayward and Somerset's Tom Trowbridge.on the wind proved to be a huge challenge.  There were many players still in contention so it was set for a great afternoons golf to find our Champion.  Brendon was first home and posted another great round of of 67 for a 12 under total of 132.  Thomas Scullion fought hard for a great 65 which was matched by Somersets Freddie Turnell putting him into third place overall on 134.  Milan Reed though chipped in on the last for an eagle and a stunning 64 to give him the Amateur Championship with a 131 total one better than Brandon.

As can be seen the scoring was remarkable and great credit to all the players for a very exciting Championship.  All the results are available to view on the side bar.
