INTER-COUNTY TEAM MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

A wonderful week of golf, played on a really fine course presented in superb condition.

The weather was inclement throughout the week with persistent rain at times, but, this did not detract from the players producing some sparkling golf and a very tight, nail-biting finish which went to the wire until the final day when Gloucestershire defeated Dorset by 1/2 a point.

Gloucestershire Played 5 won 4 lost 1 to secure 4 points, with Dorset having played 5 Won 3 Drawing 1 and losing 1 to secure 3 1/2  points.

3rd were Cornwall

4th Devon

5th Somerset

6th Wiltshire

CLIFFORD BURDEN TROPHY

The winner was James Reed (Exeter Golf & Country Club) Devon

winning on count-back from Joe Harvey (Gloucestershire) & David Norton (Dorset)

SOUTH WESTERN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

WINNER THOMAS PLUMB (Somerset) 66+ 66 = 132

RUNNER-UP TOM SLOMAN (Somerset) - 70 + 68 = 138 On Countback

3rd JOE HARVEY (Gloucestershire) - 69 + 69 = 138

YOUTHS CHAMPIONSHIP

WINNER - THOMAS PLUMB 66 + 66 = 132               

RUNNER-UP - JOE HARVEY 69 + 69 = 138

3rd - JAMES REED (Devon)   66 + 73 = 139

SOUTH WEST GROUP QUALIFYING COMPETITION FOR THE ENGLAND MEN'S COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS TO BE PLAYED AT HUDDERSFIELD GOLF CLUB.

The winning team were Somerset (pictured above) with their team of Craig Adams, Jonathan Grace, Thomas Plumb, Tom Sloman, Tom Trowbridge & Phil White  scoring 850

The runners-up were Gloucestershire 861
