Somerset won the Sheild with 4 points having won 3 matches and halved 2 following a nail biting last day against their closest rivals Gloucestershire who needed to win to take the title. Somerset dominated the morning singles winning 5 games and halving 1. Gloucestershire came back strongly in the afternoon foursomes taking 3 out of the 4 games but this was only enough to halve the match on 7 points each. Those that had played for Somerset during the week were Phil White, Craig Adams, Sam Day, Ellis Cook, Tom Small, David Gregory, James Popham, Matt Lea, Jamie Clare, Matthew Pearson & George Morgan.
Following his success in the Youths Stroke Play Championship Tom Fox (pictured right with both his trophies) proved his consistency in match play by winning 8 out of the 10 matches he played for Cornwall which enabled him to win the Clifford Burden Trophy ahead of Nick Day (Gloucestershire) Jamie Clare (Somerset) and Garry Slade (Wiltshire) who all had 7.5 points.

Wiltshire continue their success in this Championship with the England International Ben Loughrey (pictured right & with the SW President David Wakley) from Wrag Barn winning with a score of 65 + 68 = 133 (9 under). Second was Nick Day (Henbury) from Gloucestershire with 68 + 69 = 137 and third on count back was Craig Adams (Farrington) from Somerset 67 + 71 = 138.
Cornwall's Tom Fox from China Fleet won the Youths Championship with a score of 68 + 71 = 139 beating Devon's British Boys Champion Harrison Greenberry from Exeter also with 68 + 71 = 139 on count back.
The Wiltshire team qualified again for the England Mens County Finals to be played at Beau Desert from 28th to 30th September by winning the Qualifier with an aggregate score of 843 (9 under). Devon & Somerset were second equal on 868 with Cornwall fourth 870 Gloucestershire fifth 871 and Dorset sixth 889. The Team, who all played last year at Ganton when Wiltshire won the County Finals, are pictured right with their President Geoff Titt, Captain David Bauer & Vice-Captain Peter Bicknell were Ben Stow, Ben Loughrey, Ali James, Josh Loughrey, Tom Burley & Jordan Smith.
